🏈 NFL Power Rankings: Week 13
1) Los Angeles Rams (+0)
Matthew Stafford continued his blistering run by shredding a capable Bucs defense and he’s now the consensus favorite for MVP. The Rams defense is clicking under DC Chris Shula.
2) Seattle Seahawks (+1)
The only team to make the Rams look vulnerable in recent weeks, Seattle has a top-five defense and the best receiver in the NFL this season in Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
3) Kansas City Chiefs (+2)
The passing game has been far from pretty, but the Chiefs finally won a close game on the back of their aggressive defense and a new-found power running game led by Kareem Hunt.
4) Buffalo Bills (-2)
Josh Allen was bottled up and left with few options in Houston just four days after he posted an historic performance to down the Bucs at home.
5) Philadelphia Eagles (-1)
The Eagles went scoreless for an entire half in Dallas against a defense that ranks 29th in EPA per play. Philly’s running game remains anemic, but Jalen Hurts seemed to get the passing game on track. hurt again.
6) New England Patriots (+3)
Riding a nine-game win streak against mostly weak competition, the Patriots look like the best coached team in the AFC. Drake Maye leads the league in completion rate (70.9%) and ranks second in yards per pass (8.8).
7) Detroit Lions (-1)
It’s clear now that Jared Goff needs an elite ecosystem around him to look like an elite quarterback. Luckily for Detroit, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs were elite enough to come back against the Giants.
8) Baltimore Ravens (+0)
Lamar Jackson is still working to regain his form and the Ravens haven’t needed him to play at an MVP level yet. Three consecutive division games are up next though.
9) Denver Broncos (+1)
While they’ve definitely been lucky during a 9-2 start, the Broncos are learning on the fly and Bo Nix just needs to be solid to complement a truly elite defense.
10) Green Bay Packers (+2)
Green Bay’s offense has been inconsistent and hit hard by injuries. Their defense is still definitely good enough to dominate weak competition.
11) Indianapolis Colts (-2)
Daniel Jones went 9-for-19 for 87 yards in the second half and nearly threw a backbreaking pick at Arrowhead. The Colts are extremely well coached, but their ceiling is tied to their QB reclamation project.
12) Houston Texans (+1)
Houston’s defense leads the NFL in EPA by a mile and is holding opponents to a league-low 72.2 passer rating. Their offensive line remains a major weakness in certain matchups.
13) San Francisco 49ers (+0)
Brock Purdy was super shaky in a MNF win over the Panthers, but the Niners elite supporting cast pulled him through.
14) Dallas Cowboys (+4)
Now that they have a below-average defense rather than a complete liability, the Cowboys are a competitive squad. Dak Prescott might have the best receiver tandem in the league.
15) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6)
Tampa’s struggles at the end of a loss in Buffalo seemed to carry over into a bad showing at the Rams on Sunday night. Now Baker Mayfield (shoulder) is out indefinitely.
16) Jacksonville Jaguars (+0)
Liam Coen was able to hide Trevor Lawrence behind a great run game in Week 11 and pull out a win at Arizona in Week 12 in spite of the most turnover-prone QB in the NFL over the past few seasons.
17) Chicago Bears (+0)
Caleb Williams has completed just 54.3% of his passes during a 4-game win streak. But he only has one turnover and has taken five sacks despite facing relentless pressure.
18) Los Angeles Chargers (+1)
We’ll see if the Chargers injury-ravaged offensive line looks any better when they emerge from their bye to host Maxx Crosby and the Raiders in Week 13.
19) Pittsburgh Steelers (-4)
How did the Steelers rush for 186 yards, go 8-for-14 on third down, force two turnovers, and still lose in Chicago? Their overpriced defense couldn’t get timely stops once again.
20) Cincinnati Bengals (+7)
The Bengals defense showed some life against the Patriots and it’s possible the imminent return of Joe Burrow (toe) is going to invigorate this whole squad.
21) Minnesota Vikings (-1)
J.J. McCarthy was in a great spot in Week 11 and failed miserably. Max Brosmer takes over after another "soft benching" for McCarthy.
22) Carolina Panthers (-1)
Bryce Young posted a feeble performance on the road after stunning the Falcons in Atlanta. The Panthers defense is above average.
23) Atlanta Falcons (-1)
With a tailor-made game plan for Kirk Cousins, the Falcons held off their arch rival in New Orleans. Atlanta is unlikely to compete for much with Drake London (PCL) potentially shut down for the year.
24) New York Giants (+0)
Jameis Winston had his teammates fired up to play in consecutive upset bids and Jaxson Dart (concussion) should be able to return in Week 13.
25) Miami Dolphins (+0)
Mike McDaniel has his offense back on track with a diverse running game, although the Dolphins lack depth at receiver and Tua is still missing plenty of throws.
26) Arizona Cardinals (-3)
Jacoby Brissett continues to produce fantasy gold for his squad and the Cardinals defense has been doing their part by struggling to adjust during the second half of the season.
27) Cleveland Browns (+3)
Shedeur Sanders sure doesn’t lack confidence. The rookie stepped in with a decent performance in Vegas while Myles Garrett and company carried the Browns to a dominant road win.
28) Washington Commanders (+1)
The Commanders defense came up with a couple big stops against Miami in Madrid. Chris Rodriguez took over lead back duties with rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt in a reserve role.
29) New Orleans Saints (-1)
Kellen Moore and Saints OC Doug Nussmeier fumbled several situations in a home loss to Atlanta, routinely using Taysom Hill as a traditional tailback instead of unlocking his versatile skill set.
30) Las Vegas Raiders (-4)
Geno Smith has been truly terrible in the face of pressure with a league-high 41 sacks on the season. Pete Carroll also appears overmatched by younger and sharper coaches.
31) Tennessee Titans (+1)
With Jeffrey Simmons and T’Vondre Sweat back, the Titans run defense has been solid. Cam Ward is playing better as well, but they lack a run game and a viable secondary.
32) New York Jets (-1)
The Jets have the least talented roster in the NFL after mortgaging this season for future draft capital. Garrett Wilson (knee) should have no incentive to return.
